All the necessary utilities to support the methanol production process are independent of outside resources and therefore provided within the complex. The basic and detailed engineering of utility units are accomplished by Petro Kaveh Design Engineering Company (PKDEC).Kaveh methanol plant utility units include:

• ASU (Air Separation Unit)
• Instrument and plant air system
• Power generation (gas turbine& steam turbine & emergency power generator)
• Auxiliary boiler package
• Water polishing
• Cooling water supply

 

The air separation unit, capable of producing 120,000 Nm³/h of gaseous oxygen, is one of the world’s largest ASU plants. The ASU is constructed to provide process requirements for extra oxygen, nitrogen, as well as argon for sale.
