Liquid N2, O2 & Ar
Liquid Nitrogen, Oxygen & Argon
Alongside methanol, liquid nitrogen, oxygen and argon are also produced in Kaveh Methanol complex. The air separation unit (ASU) with the capacity of producing 120,000 Nm3/h gaseous oxygen is capable of producing liquefied gases as below:
Liquefied Gases | Production Rate (kg/h) | Purity (%) | Remark |
N2 | 9,500 | 99.95 | < 100 ppm O2 |
O2 | 8,600 | 99.6 | |
Ar | 5,400 | 100 | < 2 ppm O2 & < 3 ppm N2 |
Liquid Nitrogen
Liquid nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, noncorrosive, nonflammable, inert and extremely cold liquid with the boiling point of -196 °C. Nitrogen is commonly stored and transported in liquid but mostly used in gaseous state.
Nitrogen is used in different industries such as, food, pharmaceutical, stainless steel, float glass, X-ray detectors, pulverization, other temperature related applications and for shielding materials from oxygen exposure.
Liquid Oxygen
Liquid oxygen is a pale blue, cryogenic and extremely cold liquid with a boiling point of -183 °C.
Oxygen is mostly stored and handled as a liquid but it’s often used as gas. Oxygen is widely applied in different industries such as metal, chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, aluminum, copper, gold, and waste water treatment plants.
Liquid Argon
Liquid argon is a colorless, odorless, noncorrosive, nonflammable and extremely cold liquid with a boiling point of -186 °C.
Argon is mostly stored and transported in the liquid state, but commonly used as a gas. Argon is mostly used in lighting industry (for filling bulbs), welding industry (used as a shield gas), semiconductor manufacturing and other industries.
The shipping of the liquids will be done through ISO-tanks and semi-trailers for domestic and export markets.
